Wenonah Hauter is the Executive Director of Food and Water Watch, a non profit organization based in Washingtyon DC campaigning for clean health food, safe water and sustainable uses thereof. In addition to being one of the nation’s leading health food advocates, she also owns and operates and organic farm in the Virginia mountains. Prior to taking charge of Food and Water Watch, Wenonah had served as the Director of Public Citizen’s Energy and Environmental Program, was the environmental policy director of Citizen Action, and was a senior organizer for Union of Concerned Scientists. Her recent book – “Foodopoly: The Battle Over the Future of Food and Farming in America” – looks at the consequences of big corporate consolidation and monopolizing our food system.
