03/27/13 HON Turn The Other Cheek

This Hour One Nugget comes from 1st Peter 3:9. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. David talks to us about 'getting even' being the way of the world, but it is certainly NOT the way of Jesus.  Instead, Jesus' teaching on revenge is:

38 “You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’[a] 39 But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.
