What Does God Say About Gay Marriage, REALLY?

The church seems like it is holding out on this issue of same-sex marriage that our nation currently wrestles with.  We keep hearing Christian voices in the media who remind us that same-sex marriage is NOT in the Bible, and that God is against it... But is there a 'WHY' behind it all?  Does God just hate gay people, or is there something bigger going on here?
