On whose side is the Holy Spirit?

Pastor Phil Kniss said that during the Easter season we cannot speak too much about the Holy Spirit. After the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, we do not have the man from Nazareth physically with us. But in John 14:23-29 Jesus gives a clear teaching that the Holy Spirit comes to remind us of all that Jesus said and taught. Pastor Phil cautioned us to not view the Holy Spirit as OUR advocate. The Holy Spirit is in the world as an advocate for Jesus Christ and the Gospel. We are called to live a difficult life, a life that runs counter to the seductive, self-centered life that our culture touts. Perhaps now, more than ever, we need the Spirit to advocate TO us to live the way of Jesus!
