Don’t Explain

I ran across a quote from Epictetus the other day.

“Don’t explain your philosophy, embody it.”----more----

I love this quote and that’s how I try to approach the teaching of Humanism.

Of course, I do understand the irony that this podcast is all about explaining my philosophy.

Still, I try to approach it not by going into metaphysics.

But by talking about HOW the philosophy applies to my daily life.

The Humanist philosophy is not abstract.

It has a significant impact on how I choose to act.

The more I actively think about how I should act the more ethical my behavior is.

The bonus is that the more I embody my values, the less I feel like I have to explain.
