Since the story broke on June 5 in The Guardian (London)—with additional exposés in The Washington Post and The South China Morning Post (Hong Kong)—coverage betrays adherence to age-old prejudices. And so, a white 29-year-old hired hand with a personal history that suggests a need for psychiatric counseling is far more credible, far more authoritative, far more knowledgeable, and far more respected than the black president whose administration he infiltrated.
