Jeremiah 11 Whatever was written, was written for our learning

Verse by verse bible study on the 11th chapter of Jeremiah. The children of Israel were forewarned of their punishment should they ignore God's word. They had these things written for their instruction but they refused to obey. Do we neglect God's word in the same way?
