Episode # 724 - Sacrifice, Salvation, Surprises, Survival, Syria, Shared Cities, And Saints

On this very hot (again this week) Thursday for the last week of August, everyone is back today and Father Anthony opens the show with talking about the Gospel and also St. Augusta too, since he was mentioned Tuesday.  The discussion turns toward the kids in school along these lines and how they want to exercise, and have the exercise of the mind as well these days.  Everyone shares their physical experiences from being a kid in school having gym class and exercise as kids and relates it all towards what Jesus was talking about in the Gospel reading discussed.  The top ten cities where to live and worst places to live are shared today on Father Anthony's Top Ten List, which are determined by many factors. Today, one of St. Stans visitors, Mercy came in this morning and the discussion relates to how she decided to quit her job and become a stay at home Mom to take care of her kids and this brings up many ideas including; sacrifice, determination, parenting, money, and others in relation to people trying to make a living in these economic times.  The topic of the recent fighting and conflict in Syria is brought up in more detail today too and how relations are affected between nations here.  On a lighter note, St. Augustin is talked about today since yesterday was his feast day and today is the Feast of St. John.
