Anniversary Service—More than an Institution

Philippians 2:1-2 (NLT) 1 Is there any ENCOURAGEMENT from belonging to Christ? Any COMFORT from his love? Any FELLOWSHIP together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by AGREEING wholeheartedly with each other, LOVING one another, and WORKING together with one mind and purpose.

God’s will in the “one another” commands

·         John 13:34 (NLT) So now I am giving you a new commandment: LOVE EACH OTHER. Just as I have loved you, you should LOVE EACH OTHER.

·         Romans 12:16 (NLT) LIVE IN HARMONY with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

·         Galatians 5:13 (NLT) For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to SERVE ONE ANOTHER in love.

·         James 5:16 (NLT) CONFESS YOUR SINS to each other and PRAY for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
