Adversity: Burden or Blessing

I saw that on a church sign the other day and I thought to myself.

That’s a really good question.

While adversity of any type is unpleasant ...

It’s also true that in adversity lies opportunity.

After all, if you can figure out how to overcome adversity, your solution ends up being a blessing.

So is adversity a blessing?

I don’t think so.

I think it’s a burden.

But that fact shouldn’t keep us from pressing on.

After all, if you are going through hell, it’s probably best to keep going. 

You may not overcome it fully, but you have a better chance of getting past it if you work at it than if you just keep wallowing.
