“Jesus, Immanuel”- Matthew 1:18-25 - (Eastside Baptist/Sun AM/Dec. 15, 2013) 1. The Incarnation was accomplished by the powerful plan of God. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 1:20, NIV) 2. The Incarnation fulfilled the purpose of God.

1. The Incarnation was accomplished by the powerful plan of God.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 1:20, NIV)

2. The Incarnation fulfilled the purpose of God.

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Matt. 1:21, NIV)

3. The Incarnation brought us the presence of God.

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us"). (Matt. 1:22-23, NIV)

Main Idea: Jesus, Immanuel came to live with us and die for us, so that we might live with God forever.
