Marty Wolfson is the director of the Higgins Labor Studies Program at the University of Notre Dame where he has been a professor of economics since 1989. His research focuses on labor and financial markets, macroeconomic policies, globalization and local economic development. Prof. Wolfson sits on the Board of Directors of the Community Forum for Economic Development in South Bend Indiana, which promotes social and economic equity and improved living standards for local residents. Prior to that Prof. Wolfson was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.  He has received awards awards for advancing social and economic justice within local communities, and is a frequent contributor to Dollars and Sense website.  He is also a co-editor of “The Handbook of the Political Economy of Financial Crises” published by Oxford University Press.
