Forming Faith to What End?

Declaring that following Jesus is costly, Loren Swartzendruber, president of Eastern Mennonite University and Seminary and a member of Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg,VA, told his listeners, so costly that we would die for the church. He proposed that parents would say that while they are not willing to sacrifice their sons and daughters to die for the nation in war, they would be willing to send their children into dangerous places in the world in service to Jesus, places that could result in injury or death.
