Basing his remarks on the story of doubting Thomas as found in John 20, Isaac Villegas, guest preacher at Park View Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA), reminded his listeners that while we like to think of the "transfigured Jesus" as our inspiration, we need to, like Thomas, put our hands into his side and enter into his suffering. "We'd rather not talk about the hell in our lives," he further instructed, "but that is where Jesus went--into hell for us."
