What does it truly mean to be follow Christ?

A recent comment made by a student - Why should I follow Jesus, there's no difference between Christians & the secular world anyway! There should be something in our lives that draws people to God.
There should be some evidence of God's power in our lives. What does it mean to deny ourselves and follow Christ? What is the cost? What is the sacrifice?

The challenge is - what legacy are we leaving for the next generation?
