Sowing and reaping
As a man sows so shall he reap.
Sowing is the planting of seeds.
Spiritual sowing is the planting of thoughts as seeds in one’s mind.
In the physical realm, if a man sows apple seeds he will get apple trees. The fruit is simply an external manifestation of the buried seed.

So too in the spiritual realm: whatever thoughts a man plants in his mind, his mind like a field will bring forth fruit accordingly. If he plants destructive sinful thoughts, he will reap (manifest and experience) destruction and sin in his own life and the lives of others.
A man’s mind is like a field; and whatever he plants that field will return as fruit or experience and reality to him.
Let’s take a look at sowing today. What are the conditions for successful sowing?
First, a man must have good ground upon which to sow.
Jesus teaches us the importance of good ground:
Seed that falls upon bad ground is quickly taken away. Stony soil cannot receive good seed.
But God has already given us good ground in our hearts. Our hearts are fresh fields with rich moist earth watered by Heaven’s reign, and waiting daily to receive good seed for good fruit.
He has replaced our stony hearts…
Second a man must sow good seed. What good seed must we sow?
First we must plant and cultivate seeds of truth about our Identity.
How do we do this? Saying is sowing. We must say to ourselves what God says about us.
Over and over again, we must say to ourselves that we are new creations in Christ.
We must know believe and affirm the great truths of Romans 6, 2 Cor. 5, Eph. 4, Col 2, Galatians 2, Gal. 5
We must say to ourselves that we have in us the Spirit, Character, and Mind of Christ
That we can pray like Elijah, sing like David, have the faith of Abraham, the patience of Job, the meekness of Moses…
And our new natures, the new soil of our hearts is ready and anxious to receive this good word. We must say the good word, the great word, the word about our newness in Christ, the word that testifies to our soul against the lies of the Devil and sin within that we indeed are born again, new creations made again in the image and likeness of the new Adam, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Next we must sow by thinking the best thoughts and thinking about the best things. I must plant noble, forgiving, beautiful thoughts. When I am tempted to think the worst about others, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. If I want love in my home, I will sow love in my heart. Whatever I want from my children , I will first sow it so that I can show it.
