Welcome back to our monthlong tribute to the Master of Menace, Vincent Price. It's the Master of May-nace month here at the Incredible Two-Headed Podcast!
One of the most well-known parts of Vincent Price's career was his string of Roger Corman directed adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe stories, and no discussion of his career would be complete without bringing up those classic films. So of course, we won't be discussing them today!
Instead, we're focusing on two films that tried, in one way or another, to piggyback off of the success of that cycle of films. Up first, The Haunted Palace, titled after the Poe poem, but in actuality based on the Lovecraft story The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. After that, we discuss the classic British horror film The Witchfinder General, which was retitled in America to The Conqueror Worm.
