Desmond Milo Tutu was of both Xhosa and Motswana ancestry. He was born on October 7, 1931 in Klerksdorp, South Africa and left the physical life on December 26, 2021 in Cape Town, South Africa. Desmond Tutu, was a South African Anglican bishop and theologian. He was known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist. In 1984, he won a Nobel Peace Price for his efforts in resolving and ending apartheid. He was also the first black African to hold the position of Bishop of Johannesburg and then Archbishop of Cape Town.
