Ireland could experience a “renovation wave” if the European Commission’s €750 billion recovery plan is approved by EU member states.
The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen unveiled details of the ambitious plan that’s designed to help EU countries deal with the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.
The mix of grants and loans will be channelled through programmes in the EU’s long-term budget that will run from 2021 to 2027. They include the European Green Deal which calls for a massive renovation wave of buildings and infrastructure that will bring jobs to the construction sector.
