The Effect of the Cross of Christ

  What is this effect?

• POWER!

   For what?

• Unbeliever - Salvation that leads to New Life
• Believer - Divine Wisdom that leads to God’s Glory

The Barrier

The world sees the “message” of the cross as . . .

• Foolishness!

Why?

• Unbeliever
  • It appears insane
  • It seems too simple
  • It costs me nothing
• Believer
  • It feels insane
  • It seems too difficult
  • It costs me everything

Overcoming the Barrier

To overcome the barrier built by the world, we must . . .

• Believe!

What?

• Unbeliever
  • Christ is the only way to eternal life
  • Christ died for me
  • Christ only asks for repentance & acceptance
• Believer
  • My life belongs FULLY to God
  • God’s Wisdom is ALWAYS best
  • God’s Glory is TOTALLY worth it
