Footwashing: How important is it?

Pastor Barbara Moyer Lehman continued our worship series on church practices as she spoke on the practice of foot-washing. Using Luke 22:24-27 and John 13:1-17 as her texts, Pastor Barbara spoke of her early experiences with foot-washing and then looked at some of the theology of the practice. Foot-washing requires us to become vulnerable and humble. In a time where the church faces significant challenges internally, perhaps the practice of foot-washing can orient us to an attitude that will carry us through these difficult times.
