Part 2 of the series in 1 and 2 Kings. Adonijah, David's eldest remaining son, tries to make himself king in place of his father, but his plan is foiled by the quick actions of Bathsheba (mother of Solomon) and the prophet Nathan so that Solomon is confirmed as David's successor.
