May 21 – Getting There – Pt 3 – Longing for the Lord

Have you ever experienced discouragement? You probably have and perhaps even some daily discouragement as well. Most of us go through some dry times and low seasons of life. Psalm 42 is a teaching psalm intended to help us learn how to handle the spiritual blahs and draw near to God. We’re going to find that David was piled with problems. He was on the run. He was alone and discouraged. He’s been where some of you may be today. Today we’re going to learn that because of what Jesus did for us we can: Seek him with everything we’ve got, be honest when we can’t, force ourselves to remember what is true and decide to trust God.
