Maybe it's because, for a few hours, you finally let yourself drop all the worries and just be happy. You paid good money, so you might as well, right?
The truth is, happiness isn't something you get or achieve. It's not a finish line you cross in the future, because that "tomorrow" everyone talks about for happiness never really arrives, just like that "free beer tomorrow" sign at your local pub. Think about it: how many times have you said, "Once I have this, I'll be so happy," only for that feeling to last a few hours, a day, maybe a week, before you're already looking for the next thing? So, where is this happiness then? It's not some hidden organ inside you, and it's definitely not something you can buy in a store or find on a shelf. What you're truly searching for isn't for sale, because it's not out there in the world. It's actually inside you. Happiness isn't caused by anything, and it doesn't end because of anything. It just is. And once you really get this, it's incredibly freeing! You won't need your partner to act a certain way, or your kids to be perfectly behaved, or your boss to be in a good mood. Your joy becomes unconditional. If you're feeling down, it's not because the world made you unhappy; it's because you've temporarily cut yourself off from your own inner joy.
