MEPs in the European Parliament are calling for greater supports for people who are deaf or have serious hearing impairments. They’re also calling for the introduction of legislation to ensure universal design in multimedia applications for deaf people. And the Parliament wants sign language to be recognised as an official language in all EU member states. The Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni Riada says such services are badly needed.
