US Mid-session 3 Feb 18: Markets turned higher, while inflation fears still mount

After a late sell off in Asia and European markets closed in the red the US markets opened weaker. But with 3 hours left to trade the US markets were hit by strong buying activity in banking and technology stocks. This helped lift the all indices with the S&P 500 up near 0.5%. After a late sell off in Asia and European markets closed in the red the US markets opened weaker.

But with 3 hours left to trade the US markets were hit by strong buying activity in banking and technology stocks. This helped lift the all indices with the S&P 500 up near 0.5%.

Oil in and out of positive territory after the IEA suggested the growth in Non OPEC nation output may be overstated but supported strong grwoth in US shales.
