European Far-right & populist parties trying to dismantle EU- Kelleher

A number of populist and far-right European political parties are trying to undermine the European Union with the ultimate aim of dismantling it.

That’s the warning from Fianna Fáil MEP Billy Kelleher who was speaking from the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Mr Kelleher says there’s a growing alliance of radical parties including that of Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and France’s far-right leader Marine le Pen.

MEPs this week strongly condemned Hungary’s recent anti-LGBTI laws. They accused the Hungarian government of dismantling democracy and the rule of law.
