Jesus taught his followers about prayer by modeling prayer for them. The way Jesus taught prayer revolves largely around a shift in perspective. Our culture teaches to think about ourselves first and foremost. But the way Jesus taught us to pray focuses us first on God and then on others. Talking to God the way Jesus taught us to is about a reorientation in the way we see and interact with the world.
