New rules ensuring better protection for children using online platforms will be considered by MEPs meeting in Strasbourg today.
They are due to vote on regulations that would require companies to take action against flagged content which incites violence, hatred and terrorism.
The measures are also stricter on advertising and product placement in children’s programmes.
The new rules would apply to broadcasters and video on demand and video-sharing platforms like Netflix, YouTube or Facebook.
