May just “buying time” on Brexit – Kelly

The Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly says the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator has reiterated views that the substantive issues of Brexit cannot be changed.

Mr Kelly met Michel Barnier this morning.

His meeting comes as the British Prime Minister Theresa May meets EU leaders for Brexit talks. MEPs in the European Parliament in Strasbourg will tomorrow debate the state of play of the Brexit talks with Michel Barnier.

Sean Kelly says Mr Barnier echoed earlier statements made by the EU Council President Donald Tusk who is insisting the EU will not “renegotiate” the Brexit deal.
