Episode: 00201 Released on March 4, 2024 Description: In this episode, Emily Blackburn discusses her process with CompStat then walks us through how she help create the prototype of what was to become a gun/ballistic database for her agency. Emily's badge story pertains to her use of the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) to help solve an investigation, and what the best practices are to enter in useful data that will help get matches (spoilers: add the ballistic info, not just gun!). Emily has experience testifying on behalf of ballistic data and toured the country to give lessons on the benefits of NIBIN. Emily is currently a senior public safety analyst for the CAP Index.
