Yom HaZikaron ("Remembrance Day for Israeli War Victims and Victims of Hate Operations") is a time set by the State of Israel in the second half of the 20th century to honor soldiers who died for the homeland1 . The commemoration, which precedes Israel's Independence Day festivities, was later extended to Israeli civilians and Jewish victims of terrorism since 1945.
