A retired civil servant from the West of Ireland is one of a handful of Irish people taking part in a major conference on the future of Europe in Dublin Castle this weekend.
Geraldine Burke Geary from Corrandulla, is on a panel of two hundred EU citizens who were picked to debate issues to help shape Europe in the decades ahead.
Four panels were chosen in total to be part of the Conference on the Future of Europe. It’s a year-long project organised by EU institutions. Each panel will make a list of recommendations they believe are crucial to Europe's future.
Geraldine Burke Geary says she wanted to highlight education, fishing and agriculture.
