Aml § 10-1 definerer arbeidstidbegrepet; den tid arbeidstaker står til disposisjon for arbeidsgiver, dette i motsetning til arbeidsfri hvor arbeidstaker ikke stiller sin tid til disposisjon. Begrepene er her gjensidig utelukkende.
