AM Report 20 June 18: Trade fears hit again, but the Aussie market still supported by solid growth and a lower AUD.

US sharemarkets ended lower on Tuesday. The trade dispute between the US and China dominated attention. Global exporters down the most in response to the US-China trade war. The US has threatened a 10% tariff on $200 billion of Chinese goods, in response to China's move to raise tariffs on $50 billion in U.S. goods. 

Shares in Boeing fell 3.8% and Caterpillar fell by 3.6%.  But shares in the utilities, telecom and consumer staples sectors rose on the attraction of dividend yields. After being down by 419 points, the Dow Jones ended lower by 287 points or 1.2%. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.4% and the Nasdaq lost 21 points or 0.3%.
