Market Close 7 Nov. 2019: Banks help drive ASX to best day in 3 weeks

The Aussie market has enjoyed its best daily performance in three weeks with the ASX 200 lifting 66 points or 1% to 6726.6. Gains were rather broad based but it was the big four banks contributing most to improvements. National Bank (NAB) rose 2.2% despite announcing a 11% slide in cash profit to $5.1 billion and cutting its final dividend by 16%. Only the energy sector ended in negative territory.
