5 IRREFUTABLE FACTS OF CHURCH AS COMMUNITY

1. We are a community as one new man (Ephesians 2:15-19a)
2. We are a community of supernatural existence (Ephesians 2:19-20)
3. We are a community that prioritized the presence of God (Ephesians 2:21-22)
4. We are a community fundamentally built upon the identity of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13)
5. We are a community that genuinely expresses encouragement for one another (Hebrews 3:12-13)

ONENESS - Ephesians 2:19-20

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

AUTHENTICITY - Ephesians 4:11-13

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

ENCOURAGEMENT - Hebrews 3:13-14

13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.
