A senior member of the European Parliament has been stripped of her position of vice president of the institution.
An overwhelming majority of MEPs today voted to oust Greek MEP Eva Kaili from the vice president position. She’s embroiled in a spiralling corruption scandal that’s rocking the European Parliament.
Ms Kaili is one of several people arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from World cup hosts Qatar who wanted to win influence in Europe. Ireland South MEP Billy Kelleher says the European Parliament cannot be used for wrongful purposes.
