What if Joseph would have slept with Potiphars wife?
What if Peter wouldn’t have stepped out of the boat?
What if James and John had not followed Jesus?
What if Joseph, when finding out Mary was pregnant decided to not marry her?
What if Zacheus didn’t climb that tree?
What if Moses didn’t answer the bush?
What if Nicodemus hadn’t snuck out at night to talked to Jesus?
What if the prostitute didn’t bust into the house and anoint Jesus feet with oil?

Monday Morning meanderings.
Ok, no reason to go all out for Jesus like a weirdo. Not like that one guy at church… he’s a little extreme. You know, you will go to church, go to mens bible study and even tithe… what more really could there be. You don’t have any super spiritual gift like healing, or miracles or prophetic words. You are like every one else. A simple job, a pretty ok life and maybe as you get older things will really get better! It just takes time… right?
And as you got older you believed this was the plan. Be a Christian, but be ok with the fact that you are not called to be an all out sold out on fire total Jesus freak… right? I mean that’s just not you…its not like your a pastor or evangelist… and still things are just ok.
You were even told by others things will pan out, things will feel more fulfilling in time. I mean others seem happy just being an average Christian (at least it seems that way… but who knows behind closed doors)
So here you are you have been sold a story of not having to completely commit to the radical Christian lifestyle… because really who do you think you are… that’s not you… right? And besides what would happen if you really did commit? If you really did read and pray every day for more than a few guilt pounding minutes. I mean seriously would anything happen if you began to share your faith? Read and share scripture, took risks praying for people outside the church… gave more, sacrificed more, served more, sought the voice of the Holy Spirit more? How crazy would it be to ask someone more in tune with the Holy Spirit to disciple you?
here is a secret … the ability to get more out of life is simply be more like Jesus, to experience more joy and more fruit in life then ever before is to forget what you have been telling yourself, forget what others have been telling you and actually try to be like Jesus. Weird right… you like Jesus?
The ability to do just enough is not an ability… its a liability.
You never get more by going only 75%.
You only get more by going all out.
Throw your mental limitations and mental road blocks to the gutter and simply choose to go all out.
You don’t know the bible well… step out anyway
God seems distant… step out anyway
You are not perfect… step out anyway
Your prayers don’t seem very effective… step out anyway
You are too busy…. step out anyway
You are all alone… step out anyway
Its uncomfortable… step out anyway
You are a new Christian… step out anyway
I tried it and it didn’t work… step out anyway
I will do it in a few months or years… Step out now anyway
The problem is we don’t understand the pain of regrets is always greater than the pain of stepping out.
Don’t look back at the end of your life and wonder what if.
Die with a thousands stories of you stepping out.
Or you could continue to believe the lie… you are not that guy. You are not that Godly, you are not that gifted, you do not have that much favor…
Tear down the yellow cautionary tape in front of you and start walking… take the steps. It will be worth it.
Todays challenge is to question every assumption you have concerning why YOU can’t be more like Jesus… and then step out anyway.
Men… it’s time you step out today and take this thing over!
These are my Monday morning meanderings…
Now go slay God some Giants!
