When Jerry Falwell Jr., or Bill Hybels, or Ravi Zacharias, or a prominent Roman Catholic priest are exposed as having sinned in a sexual way, conservative Christianity trembles and has an existential crisis about their ability to embody their sexual ethos. At the same time progressives mock and berate holders of a traditional sexual ethic and claim that these moral failures demonstrate the unworkability of their position.
