Wage Theft in Iowa - Millions Withheld from Workers

When we first saw the report compiled by The Labor Center at the University of Iowa and the Iowa Public Policy Project we were stunned. Through their research the group concluded businesses and individuals had failed to pay their employees a staggering $600,000,000. In addition they calculate there is an additional $120 million in unpaid sales, income and payroll taxes. That is a direct impact on the State of Iowa. What's going on? Here we have a conversation with Matt Glasson, a former private practice attorney now with the Labor Center, about wage theft in Iowa. What is wage theft, who does it impact, where is it most common, what is Iowa doing about it, who can workers turn to for help? We think you will be as surprised as we were...please listen.
