Jesus, Immanuel (Matt 1:18-25)

This week, we turn to the Gospel of Matthew 1:18-25 to hear the proclamation of . . . "Jesus, Immanuel". In this lesson, we see:

• Jesus is Immanuel.
• The name “Immanuel” means “God with us.”
• This name indicates several things:
  
  1. Jesus is God “in the flesh.”
  2. Jesus is always with his people by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
  3. Jesus is not only the God who is with us; he is the God who is for us.
• Therefore, we ought to believe in and celebrate Jesus as Immanuel..
• So, let’s find great joy in the God who is with us, Jesus, our Immanuel.
