All the Crystal Pepsi in the world can't mend your frayed neurons. If you poured it over your opened skull, the tattered dendrites would not regain their youthful vigor. When you drink it, it does not travel through your intestines, patching the holes left by various spiny plants or the scabs created by burning capsaicin. And most importantly, it cannot bring her back. In the midst of my ravenous eating, I didn't even notice her walk out the front door. But perhaps it could let me hear her voice again.
