US Mid-Session 2 Feb 16: US lower after oil slump, RBA in focus today.

US sharemarkets fell on Monday with energy producers down in response to another slump in oil prices. Economic data was also generally soft, restraining investor sentiment. With an hour of trade to go the Dow Jones was lower by 39 points or 0.2% with the S&P 500 down 0.2% and the Nasdaq was down by 3 points or 0.1%. Ratings agency Standard & Poor's has cut the credit ratings of BHP Billiton and BHP Billiton plc from A+ to A.
