Police woman Kelsey Serck, a warrior who battled stage IV cancer at the young age of 16, has joined me to share her journey. Before her law enforcement career, Kelsey interned with the Children’s Miracle Network, giving back to families facing cancer. Now serving at the Department of Veterans Affairs Police Department, she supports veterans with empathy. She and I talked about how important our veterans are and how significant it is to have compassionate officers, who can take a holistic approach when responding to a call of a veteran in crisis--after all they are the reason for our freedom and why you and I can live the American dream. Previously, Kelsey worked as an Adult Protective Specialist for the State of South Dakota, as a 911 Dispatcher, and as a Law Enforcement Officer.
