I don't think, one could ever really wrap their brain around things that had transpired on this day. I'm grateful for those who inspire me, while I remain diligent in doing my best to continue inspiring others. 

After almost a 2 year battle with cancer, I lost one of my beloved fur babies. In less than 48 hours, I barely had time to prepare myself to say goodbye. I am still in disbelief, overwhelmed and heartbroken. Doing everything you can to save a life and in a blink of an eye... they are gone. Once again, having to hold a pet with cancer while your veterinarian stands next to you... assisting that journey to heaven. It's never, ever easy. Special's organs started to quickly shut down with limited time to even allow for me to put my thoughts together. I am thankful for an amazing owner, veterinarian. I have always been the brave one during the end of life journey with loved ones and pets. But this time... it was different.

There is something so common, connected with humans and animals, when it comes to cancer. The end of such a brave, powerful journey is one in the same. It has been the first time in my life, that with great therapy... I was able to feel. To go through the loss. The emotions. So many emotions that for decades, I deprived myself. Death is such an emotional process. Regardless if human or an animal. I felt every emotion of every single family member and fur angel that I had been blessed throughout my life to hold their hand... paw. That last breath. With Special... all those emotions of many decades of loss hit me all at once. I know it will be awhile to process another loss. Especially when it comes to cancer. Far too many loved ones, beloved pets have passed on from cancer. Each loss takes a piece of your heart.

A day before Special's health took a quick turn. I was dealing with another unexpected moment. Mere enjoying the weather and cleaning out small flower beds, turned into what I thought was a small insect bite. Problem, is that I am currently under immunotherapy. An insect bite turned into a serious blood infection due to my already compromised immune system. So, in between hospital daily blood draws and trying to save one of my beloved fur kids life... I became extremely overwhelmed. Physically and emotionally.

In a nutshell... I am dealing with more than a few full plates. It's been tough-as-hell on all levels. To say the least, that would be putting it lightly. But there will always be others who have it worse. Far worse. But when we unite... connect... beautiful things happen. 

I am slowly trying to catch up on everything today and into tomorrow, Sunday.
