US Close 9 Mar 16: US markets ended 5day winning streak hit by miners and banks

US sharemarkets fell on Tuesday as the fall in oil prices and concerns about global growth drove the weakness. The S&P energy sector led the declines down 4.2%. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones was down by 110 points or 0.6% with the S&P 500 index down by 1.1%, while the Nasdaq fell by almost 59 points or 1.3%.  Iron ore rose by US70c a tonne or 1.1% to US$63.30 a tonne.
