When we do things to protect sleep and avoid sleeplessness, we may create a belief that avoidance is important based on the non occurrence of sleep loss. This is a problem because had we done nothing and there was no sleep loss, then our sleep confidence would have grown, not the belief that we need to avoid something to sleep.
