Yes it’s true. And it wasn’t such a stunning phenomenon even less than a year ago. But now every tortilla lady and shoe shine boy making but $10 a day- and even street urchins- can be seen glued to their phones. How can that be? Who are they connecting with? What caused all that IT stuff to explode at the street level with the sweaty masses when it barely existed even in the upper classes just a few years ago? #2- The un-stated Latin status "point system":

In the Latin upper middle and wealthy social structure, the people judge you by what car model and year you have. Meanwhile, in the middle, lower middle and poor Latin classes(people without cars) one is judged by his/her cell phone brand and model (no joke!)
