The Dirt on Middle School and More

Nicole Gekov concludes our month long teacher appreciation month. This girl does not disappoint! Nicole is a middle school counselor in the North Marion School District in Oregon.  She has such an inspiring story of overcoming educational difficulties, like learning disabilities and unsafe learning environments from her youth. Later in the conversation she sheds light on many areas of education but one that personally hit home, for me, was systematic problems of racism in education. Nicole is a dynamic thinker and compassionate feeler and a treasure to be heard. Enjoy!
